Art Miami

Showing with Timothy Yarger Fine Arts booth 308. Dec 3-8 2024

I am delighted to be showing a collection of dynamic ceramic Sculptures from the series “Landscapes of the Mind” Dreamscapes and Scholar Stones. Ceramic glazed monolithic forms rise from the wooden pedestals with bolts of color or agitated hues, in glazes that have vitrified in the excessive heat of the kiln. The works represent the connection between the natural phenomena and limitless freedom of clouds, landscapes and dreams. Influenced by my years in Asia and knowledge of the Chinese Scholar stones (River stones that have been shaped by water and time) Journeys across land and form have become journeys of the mind, and the chorography of my dreams in this endless reciprocal exchange between the ethereal and the earthly, formlessness and form.

New Series Adventures:

I recently returned from the most wonderful painting trip to the low country - the waterways and swamps of the Pee Dee River in South Carolina. A new series in the making, “Carolina Gold” shares the plantation bound reflections, held in the swamps, the history, the magic, the mist and the whispers of the epiphytic Spanish Moss.

In May i donated a large sculpture to Teen cancer America at a lavish and well attended event hosted by Roger Daltry and his musician friends. At the time I was stuck and not making any traction in my life and I’m a firm believer that when you are in difficult times it is of great benefit to help others - its a way of turning poison into medicine. My work was purchased by a fantastic collector and in turn they generously invited me to experience the unique and historic home and 1500 acres of their former rice plantation, indigo farm and forestry. A news article will soon be published in South Caroline Hidden Gems, and will be linked here.

It is with much gratitude that i thank you all for being my friends, my followers, my supporters and advocates, it has not been an easy year, but as always, there has still been so much to be grateful for, so much to be inspired by, so much to be honored with and always to share. From my heart to yours,

Love Caroline

With Thanks
